Welcome to St. Barnabas CofE Primary School (Green Lane, Worcester, WR3 8NZ)

Statement of Intent

Our aim is that all of our children have hands on experiences through which they develop their understanding and application of our school values and successful learning skills. All outdoor learning is planned around the curriculum currently being studied, which gives depth, enrichment and an outdoor perspective for our children. We want children to have the opportunity to be able to explore and learn outside throughout the year, experiencing the seasons and changing nature around them.

Learning outside the classroom is promoted as often as possible through our curriculum at St Barnabas.  We believe it improves children’s confidence, motivation, physical development and language. Children also develop social skills, and particularly through our forest school, they learn how to use tools safely and manage risks.

In addition to forest school we also have our Eco project, school allotment and we are beginning to develop our newest outdoor education site (The Meadow) next to the school.  We are regularly promoting outdoor learning for all children using the grounds in our school.
