Building Works on site (Monday 26th June – Friday15th September)
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to inform you that we are having some building work at school which will start next Monday and be completed around September 15th. The work will be to replace the existing disabled toilet in the main entrance with a larger and better equipped Bathroom Management Area (BMA) which will be used by children with disabilities and any visiting adults or families who need changing facilities. PE Storage will then move to the existing music room and a brand new music room will be built at the back of school.
While there is disruption and mess we are refurbishing our very small kitchen area where we prepare breakfast club and food for After School Care as well as lunchtime service.
The works to the BMA, storage and music room is being paid for by Worcestershire County Council.
The kitchen area is being paid for by school with some financial assistance from Bishop Perowne High School who provide our hot meals every day. We are grateful for their financial support with this project, helping us to improve our facilities.
All people working on site will be fully DBS checked and have careful and stringent safeguarding procedures to adhere to.
Music lessons will continue in another room in school while the work is being completed.
How will this affect you?
Five spaces of the car park and part of the footpath next to Years 1 and 2 will be cordoned off to create a works area.
- Please take extra care when arriving at school or collecting children.
- Please do not allow your children to play close to the works storage area or run around the car park area or grass bank behind where staff cars are parked.
- If your child cycles or scoots to school, please ensure they dismount at the gate and walk their scooter or bike across the car park to the bike store.
Deliveries are being managed outside of the busy drop off and collection times but please be aware that if you need to access the school entrance during the school day outside of the normal times, there may be deliveries or works vehicles which could delay you.
You will still have full access to the front entrance, the top gate and the Reception and bottom playgrounds as normal. Holiday Club during the summer will remain unaffected as other areas of the school will be used while the hall is out of action.
We are really excited to be able to improve our school building and facilities, especially in these financially challenging times and thank you in advance for your patience and help while we manage the short term disruption and inconvenience.
